*BORDER SECURITY FORCE APPREHENDED THE SMUGGLERS FROM DIFFERENT PLACES ON BORDER*


*1*.  In two separate incidents, on 17 July , 2021, under the South Bengal Frontier, troops of BSF apprehended two persons while crossing the International Boundary illegally from the area of district North 24 Parganas. 


*2*    On 17 July 2021, acting on the Intelligence inputs, a special search operation was carried out by the troops of Border Out Post Jhaudanga, 158 battalion, sector Kolkata. At around 1730, the search party saw an auto rickshaw coming at a very high speed on Jhaudanga road , the search party tried to stop the auto rickshaw. Soon the BSF party stopped the auto rickshaw and searched, from which 14 bottles were found, inside which a total of 36 liters of local liquor was recovered, which is estimated to cost Rs 3600/-. The Search party seized the auto rickshaw along with liquor on the spot and also took the auto rickshaw driver (smuggler) into custody. The apprehended driver (smuggler) has been identified as Narayan Adhikari, age - 31 years, village - Pipli, Post Office - Tentulberia police station Gaighata, District North 24 Parganas.




*3*.    During questioning the apprehended (smuggler) Narayan Adhikari told that he is a resident of Pipli and works as an auto rickshaw driver. He further revealed that he is involved in smuggling for the last one month. He buys local liquor from Sasadanga market and sells it illegally in border villages (Pipli and Goga) of India and Bangladesh, from which he easily earns Rs.1500/- on 2 cans of liquor. He revealed that today when he was crossing the duty line of BSF carrying liquor along with a bottle of water in his auto rickshaw, Border Security Force troops caught him.



*4*.   In another incident on the same day, on 17 July 2021 at around 1900 hrs, the troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion, Sector Kolkata apprehended an Indian youth illegally crossing the International Boundary from India to Bangladesh while on duty at the border.  The apprehended youth has been identified as Asraf Molla, age - about 30 years, Village - Bibirabad, Post Office - Nagartalla, District - South 24 Parganas.



5.   During preliminary questioning , the apprehended youth Asraf Mollah revealed that he is an Indian citizen and 06 months ago he had gone to Bangladesh through Petrapole landport legally to meet his Bangladeshi friend Robiul Islam and after staying there for 28 days returned to India from Petrapole, but now the validity of his passport has expired, so with the help of an Indian broker (Sujay Ghosh, Village- Swarupada, Post-Bithari, Thana- Swaroopnagar, North 24 Parganas) illegally crossed the International Boundary. He was going to Bangladesh but was caught by the Border Security Force.




*6*.    Both the  apprehended  persons have been handed over to the concerned police station along with the seized goods.
